Medical Centers & Printing Facilities

Manage your organization's medical centers and learn how printing facilities are used in production.

This article explains medical centers, which Organization Admins manage, and printing facilities, which CustoMED links to your organization. It is for Organization Admins, Organization Back Office users and printing teams.

Medical centers

A medical center is a hospital or site where your organization operates. Assigning a center to each case keeps cases organized by location.

Organization Admins and Organization Back Office users manage medical centers from Medical Centers in the side navigation.

Add a medical center

  1. Click Medical Centers.

  2. Click Create Medical Center.

  3. Fill in Name, Address, City, Country, State / Region and ZIP / Postal code.

  4. Optional: add people under Contacts.

  5. Click Create Medical Center.

To add many centers at once, click Batch Upload Medical Centers and upload a CSV file. To export your list, use Download as CSV in the table menu.

Edit or delete a medical center

Click a center in the list to edit it, then click Update Medical Center. To remove it, click Delete and confirm. Cases that already use the center keep showing it.

Medical centers in cases

  • When you create a case, choose the site in the Medical Center field. See Create a New Case.

  • To narrow the list for a clinician, open the clinician under Users and choose their Medical Centers. Cases created for that clinician then offer their centers.

  • Depending on how your organization is set up, the Medical Center field may not appear.

Printing facilities

A printing facility is the 3D printing site that produces your patient-specific guides. This can be a CustoMED partner or your own in-house printing lab.

The CustoMED team adds printing facilities and links them to your organization. Contact CustoMED to add a facility or update its details.

A facility's details are used in production:

  • Its name, address, website and logo appear on output labels as the manufacturer, and on the delivery documents. See PSI Production, Delivery & Surgical Readiness.

  • Its default printing material, printer serial number and material LOT prefill the fields when your team marks outputs as printed.

Note: If no printing facility is linked to your organization, print files do not include labels. CustoMED shows "Link a printing facility to this organization to include labels in the print files." Contact CustoMED to link one.

If your organization prints its own guides, follow the Post-Processing, Inspection & Packaging Guidelines.
