Sharing a Case with Others

CustoMED allows you to easily share an existing case with colleagues, surgeons, or external collaborators. You can choose between sharing with registered platform users or sharing via a public link for view-only access.

Option 1: Share a Case with CustoMED Users

Use this option when sharing a case with someone who already has a CustoMED account.

How to Share

  1. Open the case you want to share.

  2. Click the Co-op (Share) button in the upper-left corner of the screen.

  3. Enter the username or email address of the person you want to invite.

  4. Select their permission level:

    • Viewer – View-only access

    • Editor – Can view and edit the case

    • Owner – Full access, including approval and case signing

  5. Click Invite.

What Happens Next

  • The invited user receives an automatic email notification.

  • Once accepted, they can access the case according to the permissions you assigned.

  • All actions are logged according to system audit and access controls.


Option 2: Share a Case via Public Link (No Login Required)

Use this option when sharing a case with someone who does not have a CustoMED account or when you only need to provide viewing access.

How to Share

  1. Open the case you want to share.

  2. Select General Access.

  3. Click Copy Link.

  4. Send the link via email, text message, or any other communication channel.

Important Notes

  • No login is required to open the link.

  • Access is view-only.

  • Editing, approvals, annotations, and file downloads are not permitted.

  • Anyone with the link can view the case.

Security & Permissions

  • Case sharing respects role-based access control (RBAC).

  • Permissions are defined per case and enforced by the system.

  • All access and actions are recorded for compliance and traceability.
