If a Result Looks Incorrect or Unexpected
If a result appears off or does not match your expectations, itβs important to understand the role of the system in the planning process.
The CustoMED platform and any service providers using it deliver an initial placement and planning output based on the selected workflow and available data. These outputs are intended to support review and planning and do not represent medical judgment, final decisions, or recommended placement.
Final placement and clinical decisions must always be reviewed and verified by the treating clinician.
If you believe an implant, landmark, or planning element is not positioned correctly, you should manually correct it using the tools provided in the platform. This includes:
Adjusting or moving landmarks
Modifying implant position, orientation, or parameters
Reviewing placement against the underlying imaging
Communicating with collaborators using annotations or comments when applicable
The platform is designed to support fine-tuning and collaboration, allowing you to bring the plan to the correct clinical position before approval and export.
If something cannot be corrected using the available tools, or if you are unsure how to proceed, please contact the CustoMED team. We are happy to review the case with you and help ensure the plan reflects your intended outcome.
Why are landmarks important?
Landmarks are used for:
Measurements
Planning logic
PSI design outputs
The system may propose initial landmarks, but you should validate them before continuing.
Bones are oriented by anatomical axes
CustoMED orients bones using anatomical axes derived from landmarks.
If you change landmarks:
Axes may change
Measurements and downstream outputs may change
Best practice:
Validate landmarks before planning
Confirm the landmark step before moving on
