Working Faster in the Editor

Tips to get through the planning steps with less friction.

These tips help you get through the planning steps with less friction. For every mouse control and shortcut, see Viewer & Navigation Shortcuts.

Experiment freely with Undo

Moves and rotations can be undone. Try a placement, check the measurements, and press Ctrl+Z (Cmd+Z on Mac) or click Undo if it's not right. You don't have to get it perfect on the first move. Note that template swaps and PSI type changes can't be undone, and there is no redo.

Make precise moves

Switch to a Sagittal, Coronal or Axial view to get anatomical controls at the edges of the view. Each click on a step arrow moves 0.5 mm or rotates 1 degree, and press and hold repeats. With an element selected, the arrow keys nudge it 0.5 mm.

Use the section slider to check fit

Slide the section slider on the right of the 3D view through the model to see internal geometry. It shows depth and fit much more clearly than rotating around the outside.

Dragging the section slider down through the scapula and back, then clicking the dot to snap the section to the K-wire

Save as you go

Click Save in the header whenever you pause. It keeps your work without moving to the next step, so a refresh or a closed tab doesn't cost you anything.

Compare with versions

Each anatomy view keeps numbered versions (V1, V2 and so on). Switch versions to compare iterations before you decide which to carry forward or include in the Plan Report.

Plan in context with the combined view

For knee (TKR) and reverse shoulder (RSA) cases, open the Combined view (for example, femur, tibia and patella together) so the relationships between structures stay visible while you plan. Switch back to a single anatomy view to confirm the step.

Confirm landmarks before chasing measurements

If a measurement looks wrong, adjust the landmark that drives it first. It's usually faster than repositioning the plan. See Landmarks & Anatomical Orientation.

Let CORA do the repetitive parts

Ask CORA to select, hide or show, focus, or fill measurement fields so you keep your hands on the model. See What CORA Can Do.
