This article introduces CORA, CustoMED's built-in assistant, and shows you how to start a session. It is for anyone who works on cases in CustoMED. For example phrases, see What CORA Can Do.
CORA lives inside the platform and helps you work hands-free: ask a question out loud or type a request, and CORA answers, explains, or performs the action for you. CORA is especially useful in the 3D editor and viewer, where you want to keep your eyes on the anatomy instead of hunting for buttons.
What CORA is (and isn't)
Is: a voice and text assistant that can navigate the app, control the viewer, fill in fields, and answer questions about your case and about how CustoMED works.
Isn't: a clinical decision-maker. CORA speeds up how you work; every plan, landmark, and measurement remains yours to review and approve.
Note: CORA is in beta and can make mistakes. It does not give medical advice.
Turn CORA on
CORA is off until you turn it on.
Click your name at the top left and choose My Account.
Expand CORA and switch on Use CORA.
Under Where Cora works, choose Cora in CustoMED (the CORA button and voice), Cora on WhatsApp, or both. See CORA WhatsApp Notifications.
If there is no CORA section in My Account, CORA isn't available on your account yet. Ask your CustoMED contact to turn it on for you.
Starting a session
Select the CORA button.
Allow microphone access when your browser asks, so CORA can hear you.
Speak your request, for example: "Open case 123", "Zoom in on the femur", or "Hide the tibia".
To type instead, just start typing while the session is active. Select the microphone button to go back to voice.
A live session stays with you as you move between pages, so you can start a request on your cases list and finish it inside the editor.
Voice and text
Voice is fastest during 3D work: your hands stay on the model.
Text is best in shared or quiet spaces, or when you want to be precise about a value.
You can mute your microphone or mute CORA's voice at any time from the CORA panel, and change how fast CORA speaks.
CORA recognizes the language you speak. To choose a language yourself, use the language menu in the CORA panel.
Permissions and safety
CORA works within your signed-in session and only acts on cases you already have access to. It follows the same permissions as the rest of the platform: on a view-only or completed case, CORA can move the view and answer questions but will not change anything.
Important: CORA always asks you to confirm before it approves, rejects or exports a case.
Questions about CustoMED
Ask CORA how something works in CustoMED and it answers from the CustoMED help center, with a link to the relevant article.
