Exploring with Demo Cases

Practice on ready-made demo cases where everyone has Approver access.

Demo cases are ready-made example cases you can open to learn CustoMED without touching real patient data. They're the best way for any user to get comfortable before a first live case.

What demo cases are

  • Pre-built example cases, one per procedure your organization has access to, named with a -DEMO suffix (for example, TKR-DEMO).

  • Fully explorable: you can walk through case creation, segmentation, the viewer and the editor, and try the tools.

  • Everyone gets Approver-level access, whatever their role, so you can view, edit, approve and share and walk the whole workflow.

  • Nobody can archive or delete a demo case.

  • They never send email notifications.

Finding them

  • On the home page, under Create New Case, procedure cards that have a demo show a Demo button. Click it to open the demo for that procedure.

  • A card marked Demo Only means your organization has no cases left for that procedure, or its case limit has expired. Clicking the card opens the demo instead of a new case.

  • If your organization hasn't created any cases yet, the demo cases also appear in your case list.

What happens in a demo

  1. The demo starts on the case creation page with a sample scan already loaded and simulated segmentation progress.

  2. Surgery Details and Case Details are already filled in with sample values. Clinician, medical center and set selection are hidden, and the side is fixed by the sample scan. Click Next under Surgery Details.

  3. Click Create Case to continue to segmentation review and the rest of the workflow.

Note: Demo cases have no Save button. Your progress is kept in your current browser session only. You also can't reject a step or send it to CustoMED for review.

Important: Never enter real patient information in a demo case.

What to try

  1. Open a demo for the procedure you'll work on.

  2. Explore segmentation review and the four-view layout.

  3. Move through the editor stages: landmarks, planning and (where present) PSI design. See The Editor & Viewer.

  4. Try controlling the view with CORA. Say "zoom in" or "hide the tibia". See Meet CORA: Your Voice Assistant.

Step-by-step walkthroughs

Each walkthrough follows one demo case through every step and view, from opening the demo to the approved case, with a short animation for each step. Open the one for your procedure and follow along on your own screen.
