This article explains how to get CustoMED case updates on WhatsApp and how to chat with CORA there. It is for surgeons and team members who want to know where a case stands without keeping the platform open.
Connecting your WhatsApp
WhatsApp messages are linked to your CustoMED account. First turn on Cora on WhatsApp in My Account (see Meet CORA). Then connect your number in one of two ways.
From WhatsApp
Send a message to CORA on WhatsApp.
When CORA asks, reply with the email address you use for CustoMED.
CORA emails you an 8-digit code. Paste just the digits into the chat.
From CustoMED
In My Account, expand CORA.
Under WhatsApp number, enter your phone number with the country code and click Connect.
From WhatsApp on that phone, send CORA the code shown in CustoMED. Only this code connects the number.
Once linked, CORA knows who you are and can send you case updates. To disconnect, click Remove next to your number in My Account, or tell CORA to log you out. To pause all WhatsApp messages, switch off Cora on WhatsApp.
What you'll receive
Case completed: a message when a case you collaborate on is completed, with the Instructions for Use (IFU) PDF attached for your records. If the file is too large to attach, you get a secure download link instead.
Case sent to you for review: a message when the CustoMED back-office team sends a case back to you (or your team) for review, including their note.
Comments and mentions on your cases.
Case shared with you.
Case needs back-office review, if you review cases for your organization.
Choose which of these you get in My Account, under Notifications, in the WhatsApp column. The WhatsApp switches are separate from the email switches. You don't get messages about demo cases. See Managing Email Notifications & Reminders.
Chatting with CORA on WhatsApp
Once your WhatsApp is linked, you can also ask CORA about your cases. CORA uses your own CustoMED permissions, so it only shows what you can already see.
Case status: "Where is case 123?", "What changed on my cases this week?"
Reports and files: "Send me the latest plan report for case 123". CORA can send the plan report, the IFU PDF or the exported files, when you are allowed to download them.
A look at the case: CORA can send screenshots of a case and a link to open it in CustoMED.
Voice notes: you can send a voice note instead of typing.
Questions about CustoMED: CORA answers from the CustoMED help center and, if it can't help, connects you with a CustoMED teammate.
More than one organization: if you belong to several organizations, ask CORA to switch between them.
